Company Structure Check: Who Is Really Behind This Company?

Need a company structure check before you sign with a new business partner? In that case you probably don’t want to pay for a full AML file covering sanctions, country risk and adverse media. You have one concrete question: who is really behind the company, and who are its directors or ultimate beneficial owners?

That is why KYC-Checks offers three standalone options for structural research. From €29 you get a complete breakdown of the legal structure, including parent companies and subsidiaries. In addition, you can optionally extend the report with a PEP screening on every individual identified.

Bank-Ready Reports

Our reports are structured to meet the expectations of European banks, auditors, and compliance departments.

What exactly is a PEP screening?

PEP stands for Politically Exposed Person: an individual with a prominent public function who therefore carries an elevated corruption or money laundering risk. Examples include ministers, senior civil servants, judges and directors of state-owned enterprises. Close family members and known associates also fall within the definition.

A PEP screening systematically checks every person in the board or UBO layer against current international PEP lists. By doing so, you meet the enhanced customer due diligence requirements under EU AML regulations and the Dutch Wwft. Worth noting: behind many high-risk structures sit professional enablers — lawyers, accountants and trust providers who deliberately add layers of opacity. Our analysts know what to look for.

Who is this check for?

  • Compliance professionals who want to validate a corporate structure before issuing advice
  • Accountants who need a UBO determination or director check for a client file
  • SME owner-managers who simply want to know who is behind a potential supplier or client
  • Investors and M&A parties mapping the group structure before deeper due diligence

Three options for your company structure check

Choose the scope that matches your question. You pay online and receive the report typically within one working day.

Option 1: Structure National (€29)

A quick structure check based on national Chamber of Commerce data. You receive the organisational chart of the national entity, including all subsidiaries and registered directors. Ideal when you work with a domestic supplier or partner and simply want a clear picture before contracting.

Option 2: Structure International (€39)

Does the target company have foreign parents, sister entities or holdings? In that case we combine National data with GLEIF, international trade registers and open-source intelligence. As a result, you also see entities outside your country that would otherwise be missed.

Option 3: Structure + Full PEP (€49)

The most complete variant. On top of the international structure check, we perform a full UBO determination and screen every identified individual against international PEP databases. Therefore, this is the recommended option for AML-obliged institutions that want to tick both structure and PEP in one report.
